Rock Detroit For Wounded Veterans

Here at Hip in Detroit we love music. Even more importantly, we love charity, community outreach and anything that raises awareness. The best case scenario is when all of these things combine and create a fun event that you can attend while helping raise money for a good cause. Mike Hopper Trio is teaming up with Desolation Angels, 1592 and the Ryan Dillaha band to raise money for veterans. They are calling the event Rock Detroit for Wounded Veterans. All proceeds from this event will go to the Hooligans for Heroes Charity.
The charity, founded in 2012, is a grassroots movement that works in conjunction with the widely recognized Wounded Warrior Project to help bring aid & awareness to American heroes, on and off the field. Their goal is to raise funds and awareness about the issues facing veterans who are wounded in service including women, men and people of all colors and backgrounds. They feel it is our duty as human beings to help all those affected by war and I could not agree more.

Mike Hopper Trio is self-described as progressive rock. 1592 has a rock steady vibe and describe their music as reggae. Ryan Dillaha is a little bit of good, old-fashioned country mixed with a little rockabilly twist. Each band brings something different to the table and something beautiful to your ears.

The show will be hosted by Small's in Hamtramck and it is only $10 at the door. This show is 18+ and starts at 8 p.m. Rock and roll for a cause, we love it!
