Jenny Owen Youngs' third studio album is called An Unwavering Band of Light and was produced by longtime collaborator Dan Romer. It was released this past February on Nettwerk Records and is 11 songs in total. You can download it here, along with her previous releases, Transmitter Failure and Batten the Hatches. Some songs on the new release are stripped down, piano only style, and other songs are loud and in your face.
Jenny credits everyone from Nirvana to Sleater Kinney to Tom Waits as inspirations for this new album. This album is louder and more raw than her previous two releases. You can check out a bunch of videos of her and her music here. She has had music featured on "Weeds" and a musical episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". She even opened for Regina Spektor, one of my favorite solo artists. She is not only beautiful, but incredibly talented. Jenny is 31 years young and comes from Montclair, New Jersey.
Tickets for this show are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. They are available for purchase here.
