Once again, this show is free and a great way to check out some good music and have a drink without breaking the bank. I have discovered some of my favorite local acts when they played one of these free shows. There is nothing like eating a big, old slice of Sgt. Pepperoni's pizza while listening to music in a room with a checker board ceiling. It's a real Detroit experience.
Fountain Records is a local indie label that puts out music from a variety of bands including Kenny Tudrick, The Sights, Ohio Knife and Instant party. They specialize in putting out 7 inch vinyl pressings of the bands that they work with. This week they will give one lucky winner a new 7 inch by The Rich Hands called Bad Girl, their older 7 inch called Heartbreaker and a Fountain Records T-shirt of your choice to be picked up at the event.
All you have to do to enter is email us at hipindetroit@gmail.com with your full name and the subject line 'Fountain Records'. We will draw one lucky winner the day of the show and you can pick up your prize pack at the Garden Bowl while you watch the band play. It is that easy to win. Check out a song by The Rich Hands below and come out to the show to see them live at 10 p.m. this Saturday, June 22. The Garden Bowl is located at 4140 Woodward Ave. I wasn’t joking about the pizza either. Try going to the Garden Bowl and not eating a slice, I dare you!
