Woodbridge Merrick'n Summer Festival brought together people from all walks of life this Saturday for an afternoon of fun in the sun and music. The weather was perfect, despite the looming clouds earlier in the day, and as the day went on more and more people ventured out to the event.
Set outside Woodbridge Pub just off Trumbull On Merrick, Merrick'n Fest featured 2 stages with musicians playing from 1 p.m. until about 1 a.m. Since it was free, patrons were welcome to come and go throughout the day, which we loved.
Some of the highlighted acts for us on Saturday were Almost Free, George Morris and SFI. We also finally got a chance to check out Pink Lightning, whom we've been hearing a lot about. They were pretty fantastic and we definitely look forward to checking them out again and hopefully meeting up with them soon too.
The next big chance to celebrate 'Merica this week is at Nancy Whiskey's Rock N Roll Pig Roast on the 4th. This fest will feature a ton of great bands including Touch the Clouds, Mexican Knives and Palaces. It's $5 to get in and runs from 1 p.m. 'til around Midnight.
