Last Saturday night Christie and I braved the Woodward Dream Cruise crowds to head up to The Loving Touch in Ferndale to see George Morris. The first time I saw him play was at the W.A.B. during the Ferndale Blowout. I liked what I heard and saw, but at that time it was only George and a keyboard. So I was surprised to see that he was set up to play with a full band this time around.
I Later learned that George has permanently started playing with a full band and it has really added to his live show. He himself admits that the songs on his album are a little slower than he prefers to play them live and he thought adding in the live keyboard, drummer, bass, and guitar would bring a much needed element to the stage when he played the music live. I argue that his voice and stage presence could sell the songs alone, but loved the full band sound so much that I am not going to complain. George is excellent at connecting with the crowd, so it was no surprise that he got the crowd dancing and moving while he performed.
I foresee all you falling in love with George in the near future so I wanted to sit down with him and learn a little bit more about the man behind the music, meet George Morris.
To learn more about George and hear some of his music check him out on Facebook and bandcamp.
