I'm a sucker for good girls gone bad, but I have a sneaking feeling that Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless was never good to begin with. Sure, she started off as sweet little Jenny on Gossip Girl, but quickly grew into one of the most dynamic characters on the show. Remember when she was dealing drugs via mini boat in central park? You can say I became a fan of hers because of the show, but once I heard her music I realized there was a lot more to her than meets the eye.
In Momsen's bio she talks about seeing Jack White for the first time when she was nine years old. She says at that point she realized that being a rockstar wasn't about wearing skimpy clothes and running around on stage, it was about playing good music. She states that she's a sucker for a good male front man and credits Zeppelin, Floyd, Oasis, Nirvana, and Soundgarden as being some of her biggest inspirations.
She channeled all of her raw energy into her latest album to be released in 2014 called Going to Hell and released her first single off this album under the same name. This album has been getting great reviews and seems to show a whole new side of Momsen. She is currently going across the country promoting the album and is making a stop at St. Andrew's on October 25th. Tickets are $24 at the door, but we have 3 pairs to give away to three lucky winners. To enter, please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com . We will email the winners back a few days before the show and their name will be on the guest list plus one. Good luck! XOXO Gossip Girl ;)
