Tequila Mundo

This Saturday the Royal Oak Farmers Market will be selling fresh Michigan grown fruits and vegetables during the day and hosting a fancy tequila tasting at night. A few weeks ago we interviewed Mike over at Cabresto Tequila and learned that there is a lot more to tequila then we ever imagined. Each type and brand of tequila varies based on where the agave plant is grown, how it is cooked, and how long it sits and waits before it hits your lips. There is a tequila out there for all of us and this tasting is the perfect chance to find out what tequila that is.

This event will feature over 60 types of tequila for you to taste and sample. Patrons can try the stuff straight up or get it mixed into cocktails, including margaritas. After you have had a few samples you can pick up a taco or burrito from one of the local restaurants participating in the event. This list includes Alley Taco, Rojo Mexican Bistro, Zumba Mexican Grille, Taquería El Nacimiento, On The Border Mexican Grill, and Camelia's Mexican Grill. There will also be over 40 salsas to sample and taste as you walk around! There will also be music, games, and shopping from a variety of vendors.

Tickets for the general tasting are $45 and can be purchased here. To learn more about the event, visit their website here. The tasting starts at 8 p.m. and goes 'til 11:30 p.m.
