They want local parents to bring the kids in and have them sign up for the 30 day reading challenge. Each child who wants to participate will be given a calendar to mark off the days that they participate, once they have hit 30 days they can bring it back to the library for a prize. They will also be entered into a raffle to win even bigger prizes that have been donated by various local businesses.
This year the library is teaming up with the Michigan Science Center to keep kids reading. The library will be hosting Super Science Saturdays in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program.

July 12 from 7-10 p.m. - Divergent Lock-in (Teens - Parental Permission Required; Registration Required)
July 19 @ 2 p.m. - Magician Tom Plunkard (All Ages)
July 26 @ 2 p.m. - Rocket Science 101 with the Michigan Science Center (Ages 6-12; Registration Required; Ferndale Residents Get First Priority)
