This weekend head down to the Detroit Riverfront for Detroit Riverdays. This three day event features something for everyone, with a Taste of Detroit food court, tours of tall ships and a Coast Guard Cutter, Jet Ski demonstrations, carnival rides, sand sculptures, street performers, and two stages of live local music. Some of the bands performing this weekend include, Lightning Bugs, Zander Michigan, Le Voyage, Nigel & The Dropout, Kaleido, The Ruiners and The Infatuations. Detroit Riverdays kicks off on Friday, June 20 and runs through Sunday, June 22nd. Admission is only $3 during the day and $5 after 5 p.m., but children 3 and under and seniors 65 and older get in for free. This year the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is offering a promotion called Free Friday, which means you can get in the gates for free between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday. Once you are in, you can stay until close without having to pay admission. The festival runs from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Sunday.
