This weekend check out an amazing new space in Detroit while seeing an awesome musician and a skate board legend. Ron Allen a.k.a. McIntelligence will be at Rosa Parks Boys for a night of music and skating.
Let's start out by telling you about Rosa Parks Boys. This new venue in Detroit is an art space, theatre, and skate park all in one. It was started by a group of skaters that live in Detroit on Rosa Parks, that have a true passion for the city and for skating. They transformed a building into what looks to be an amazing place. Check out this video that The Skateboard Mag made about Rosa Park Boys, it shows the venue and passion behind it in a much more effective way than we can describe it in words.

Ron Allen is best known for being a professional skateboarder. He is considered the first African American professional skateboarder and he has been at it for decades now. On top of skating, he is also a musician. He has performed in a number of bands in the past (mainly jazz), but is currently working on a solo project, McIntelligence. Check out one of his latest tracks below.
Ron is doing a small tour in support of his new project, with stops in New York, D.C. and Detroit. It is being called the #Neverstopped Tour and it is stopping here this Saturday, September 20th. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. but there will also be skating before hand, plus space is tight so you better get there early! This show is being presented by Pigeon Skateshop, Motor City Brewing Works, H-Street Skateboards and, of course, the Rosa Parks Boys. Admission is free. For more info on this great event, click here.
