Imperial in Ferndale is gearing up to celebrate their Third Annual Dia De Los Muertos Celebration a.k.a The Day of the Dead. Every year the staff paints their faces sugar skull style and artists from around the area create one of a kind paper mache skulls that are auctioned off for charity. They also have food and drink specials during the event. This year's party will take place November 1st and 2nd with a special artists' reception on October 30th.
The artist lineup this time around includes: SLAW, Chris Gorski, Kill Taupe, Audrey Pongracz, Ron Zakrin, Mark Heggie, Jaclyn Schanes, Jerry Vile, Emi Slade, Bethany Shorb, Shaina Kasztelan, Kip Ewing, Jeff Shea, Paolo Perdini, and Peter Coe. The skulls will be raffled off on EBAY after the event and a portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to Roosevelt Primary School in Ferndale and The Eagles Pledge Scholarship Program for college-bound graduating Ferndale High School students.
Imperial is encouraging everyone to come out wearing their best sugar skull costume on Saturday, November 1st. The attendee with the best costume will win a $150 gift card for their efforts. This is a cool and fun event that also raises money for the community, you cannot go wrong.
Imperial is located at 22828 Woodward Ave., Ferndale, Michigan. For more information on the event follow Imperial on Facebook here.
