Regeneration is one of those awesome resale shops that always has something cool for everyone. I walked in the store last week to see what they had and my jaw dropped to the ground. You see, I am a little bit of a purse diva and my favorite bags have always been L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani. Over the years I have built up quite a little collection of her duds, but there have been a few that I missed or simply couldn't afford. The bigger the bag, the higher the price tag. So, a lot of times I have bought the smaller or medium sized bags when I had to have a certain design, but couldn't afford the large sac size that I prefer. So, when I walked in and saw one of my all time favorite bags in the larger size, I almost had a heart attack. Not only are these bags hard to find due to limited release, but they re-sell on Ebay for at least half their worth, even when they are in bad condition. This was not the case at Regeneration. Not only was the bag in mint condition, it was only $24. I immediately snatched it off the shelf and bought it. This is one of the many reasons why I love Regeneration. They carry lots of high end items for very reasonable re-sale prices.
Regeneration carries everything from vintage designer duds to cool dresses that your grandma might have worn for New Years. They have a large ever changing stock and two locations in Pleasant Ridge and Clawson. I decided it was time to get the scoop on the shop so I could pass along all the details to our readers. Here is what I learned:
Regeneration buys clothing and accessories that were purchased retail within the last year and vintage items from the 1970s or older. At the Clawson location, they accept women's, men's, children's, and maternity wear. They do not purchase children or maternity clothing at their Pleasant Ridge location. The team purchases and prices the items on the spot. You can either get 30%of the items sale price in cash or 45% of the price in store credit to buy something else. They also purchase different items during different seasons. Winter clothing is generally purchased from November to mid February, spring clothing from mid February 'til the end of April, summer clothing from May 'til August, and Fall clothing from August to October. They also purchase old Halloween costumes from September until October. This gives you an idea of what kind of items you will find in stock when you stop in. They will only buy up to 25 pieces of clothing per person, per day and they do not buy everyday. So you need to find out if they are even buying on the day that you want to bring things in.
Pleasant Ridge is open Monday through Saturday from 11-7 and Sunday from 12-5. They buy on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11-6 pm. Clawson's store is open Sunday and Monday from 12-5 and Tuesday through Saturday from 11-7 p.m. Their buy days are Tuesday and Thursday from 11-6 and Sunday 12-4 p.m. To find out more about what they are looking for you can follow them on Facebook here .
