This Friday night, February 13th, is your first chance to see a new Detroit band that everyone will be talking about soon. Their name is Young Hunger and you might recognize a few of the guys in the band.
Young Hunger is the new project of Ryan Collins (The Swellers), Ben Wixson (Black Jack Wilson/Frank White, Down Down Down), Nick Herdzik (Bottomed Out, Before I Go) and Bob Duncan (Fires In Japan). Their first track, "Holes In Your Tongue", was released a couple of weeks ago by AbsolutePunk.net and you can download it for free on Bandcamp.
Their first show is this Friday at The Sanctuary, then they are hitting the ground running, playing their second show with Pennywise, A Wilhelm Scream and Teenage Bottle Rocket on March 20th at St. Andrew's Hall. So, like we said, Friday is your chance to catch this band before everyone else!
Joining Young Hunger at The Sanctuary are Undesirable People, Due North, Braidedveins, The Lippies and Carmel Liburdi, making it an all around awesome lineup. It's only $8 to get in and doors are set to open at 7 p.m.
The Sanctuary is located at 1501 E. Outer Drive in Detroit. Remember, this is a DIY venue brought to you by the same guys that had The Halfway House and Yonka House. So BYOB, be respectful, and make sure you pay the cover to keep this place going and to show your support for the bands. For more info, click here.
