Getting the Perfect Smokey Eye and Talking Organic Makeup With Cheryl from Rouge in Ferndale (Video)

Organic, for the longest time I thought it was just some bullshit buzzword. Ask yourself, what does organic really mean? According to Webster's Dictionary organic is defined as "not using artificial chemicals".  But, not all chemicals are artificial and not all chemicals are bad. For instance, water and arsenic are both organic chemicals. So, how do you know when you're actually getting a good organic product versus one that just uses the name because they can?

These are some of the questions we asked Cheryl Salinas-Tucker co-owner and makeup artist at Rouge, an organic and vegan nail and makeup studio in Ferndale, Michigan. We had the opportunity to sit down in her makeup chair and chat with her while she solved another one of life's mysteries, how to get a perfect smokey eye.

I was blown away by all of the things that we learned during the interview, including the benefits of using truly organic products, how important prepping the face is before putting on an ounce of makeup, and how to use eye cream in a whole new way. I walked out of her studio with a huge bag of products and a little less money in my bank accounts, but I was more than pleased with my purchases.
I can attest to the quality of the Eve Organics line after using it for a few weeks. I am obsessed with the eye cream and the foundation powder. I hadn't used a powder foundation in years, but after getting some cool new tricks from Cheryl, I am hooked. I have always hated wearing anything that was heavy, especially during the summer and this stuff is as light as a feather. Check out our latest video feature and give this organic shit a try, in this case it's far from a bullshit buzzword.
