Fireworks has been a Detroit staple ever since they formed in 2005. They are known for their catchy lyrics and live sing alongs. They are currently on tour with Turnover, Sorority Noise, and Monument, Monument. This tour is going to be there last, or it might be their last for awhile, even the band themselves is not really sure. On May 14th they posted this message on their Facebook:
"There's no way to express how much your love and support has meant to Fireworks - and furthermore, to us as individuals over the last 8 years or so. After these upcoming gigs are ripped, we will be taking a break for awhile to give the other sides of life a try. We really don't know how long "awhile" is, but you'll be the first to know when we figure that out. Hope to see everyone this Spring and Summer. Fireworks Forever."Basically, things are up in the air for the band. But, what we do know is that no matter what, this is going to be the last time you can catch the band live for a long time. So you don't want to miss this one!
The boys will be playing at The Shelter this Sunday, June 7th. Tickets for the show are only $12 in advance, they can be purchased here. We also have a pair of tickets to give away to the show courtesy of Black Iris Booking. To enter to win a pair of tickets, please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with the subject line Fireworks. We will draw a winner the day before the show and we will email them details on how to claim their prize.
We have no idea where Fireworks will go from here, but we wish them the best and thank them for all of the great music and great shows throughout the years!
