Nowadays there are a ton of breweries in Michigan and even right here in Metro Detroit. The WAB, Atwater, Kuhnhenn, Dragonmead, Black Lotus, and Falling Down are just a few that come to mind right away. Well, the fine folks that brought you Ghettoblaster have been making great beers for quite a while now. Motor City Brewing Works is celebrating 20 years of brewing beer and they're calling this their “Canniversary, Twenty Years of Making Great Beer”. In honor of their Canniversary they will be hosting a series of parties and events, with the first happening this Saturday, August 1st at New Center Park.
Saturday night, head out to New Center to check out a FREE show and awesome party featuring great music and great beer! The lineup for the evening includes Tunde Olaniran, The Hentchmen, and DJs from Peoples Records spinning throughout the night. In addition to great music, Motor City will also be releasing their most popular beer, Ghettoblaster, in cans! So now you will be able to head to the fridge to grab Ghettoblaster when you're not up for heading out to a bar.
The gates for Saturday's party are set to open at 8 p.m. and music will be starting right at 8:30. Like we mentioned, admission is free, and all are welcome. New Center Park is located at 2998 W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit. For more info on this event, click here.
