Well, Dirt Fest did it again this year, they put on an a awesome show! It has become sort of a summer ritual at this point to load up the car and drive up I-75 for the day for this festival. This year's Dirt Fest was a little different than the year's past because it took place over 2 days instead of just 1. This allowed the festival to bring out even more acts than in the past and gave us all an excuse to party a little harder and stay the night in Birch Run.
Friday featured a slightly shorter day of music with HELLYEAH (featuring Vinnie Paul of Pantera) headlining and bands like Fear Factory, Coal Chamber and Jasta (from Hatebreed) playing throughout the day. There was only one stage going on Friday, so there wasn't the constant flow of music like usual, but the names were bigger all day long. We had a super fun time taking over the Dirt Fest instagram for the day too, you can check that out here.
On Saturday gates opened earlier in the day at Noon and fans began to pile in. There was a little bit of rain earlier in the day, but that didn't seem to scare anyone away! The headliner for the evening was Down (featuring Phil Anselmo of Pantera), who also did a meet and greet earlier in the day with fans at the InkAddict booth.
All weekend long vendors and Dirt Fest made sure fans had a chance to meet some of the biggest names on the festival, and fans definitely lined up to take full advantage of these opportunities. Some other highlights of Saturday were Detroit's own Child Bite, Kaleido, and Taproot. And of course it's always fun to hang out with everyone from InkAddict and PRTY Crew Collective!
We have to give a HUGE shout out to the Dalton Brother's, their friends & family, Mike Babcock, and everyone that worked behind the scenes to make Dirt Fest successful again this year. A great time was had by all and we can't wait to do it again next year!
