Last week we got the unfortunate news that wrestling legend Roddy Piper passed away at the young age of 61 years old. You may remember Roddy by his stage name "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. I was introduced to Roddy when he played a washed up wrestler on one of my favorite shows, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's always sad to see someone go, but in Roddy's case we have one more piece of film to watch before the curtain truly closes.
Roddy's last film is called Portal to Hell. It is a short film that will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September (10th-20th). The film was directed by Vivieno Caldinelli and written by Matt Watts, the music was scored by Steve Greene from the Detroit synth rock band Voyag3r. There will also be music featured from Voyag3r's 2014 album Doom Fortress. This is your last chance to catch a wrestling legend on screen while listening to some really great music from a really solid Detroit artist and band.
