This Tuesday night UFO Factory will be playing two of the best witch movies ever made! The movies couldn't be more different, but both are great in their own right.
First up on the screen will be Hocus Pocus. Starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy this story follows a girl, her brother, a girl he likes, and a talking cat throughout a night of adventure in cute suburban town. The cat is actually a boy who has been put under a spell and the witches are out to get some more children. It is a family friendly film, but it still managed to freak me out when I was a kid. Now it's just fun to watch and is definitely a go to around Halloween.
The second showing of the night is The Craft. This movie tells the story of the more modern day witch. It stars Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True. This group of 4 "weird" goth girls learn witchcraft and use it to their advantage. They have a cool dark side that draws you in and makes you want to hang out with them, but this movie has a creepy side and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This super awesome double feature is being brought to you by the ladies at Seraphine Collective. Admission is FREE and in addition to watching the movies, there will also be face painting, free popcorn, you can get your nails done, and you can even contribute a drawing or article to the next Seraphine zine. Doors are set to open at 8 p.m. with Hocus Pocus on at 9 and The Craft at 11. This should be an awesome night, featuring two great movies. What a great way to kick off the Halloween season!
