Saturday, February 6th the
Tangent Gallery in Detroit will host a one time viewing of
Eric Freitas' newest exhibit
Growth and Decay. Freitas' work has been featured in galleries across the world, most notably
Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Germany. This particular exhibit will feature Eric's largest and most detailed work to date, a 7 foot tall freestanding clockwork sculpture that consists of thousands of parts. After this one time viewing, the piece will be shipped to a private gallery in Wisconsin and you won't be able to see it again. The exhibit will also include a "collection of Freitas' earlier clocks, as well as sketches, technical drawings and finished concept renderings".
Doors for the one time only showing will open at 7 p.m. and the first 50 people in the door will get a complimentary print from the artist. It is free to attend and the show will run until 10 p.m. on Saturday. Cash bar, all are welcome.
