This Friday, February 5th The Erers will be releasing their last EP I Can Do Anything at The Loving Touch. The band will be playing with their good friends Red Stone Souls and DUDE. They recently released a music video to get everyone pumped for their new tunes. We had the opportunity to ask the bands front man Matt Riesterer a few question about the album, the release party, and his Slurpee preferences. Check out what he had to say and find out how to enter to win tickets to attend the show for free.
HID- Where did the name The Erers originate from?
Matt- "We all have an ER in our name, and my last name has two ER's but you say it with one so it's a play off of that. I panicked when I was booking our first show because we didn't have a name. It just worked out that our first show was just Chris and me and we both had ER at the end of our names. After Jamie joined the band, it became who we are instead of just a name for two dudes on stage."
HID- Where did you record the new EP and who did you work with?
Matt- "We went to Benton Harbor to record at the Key Club with Bill Skibbe. It was really cool to go away for a few days. We would wake up and immediately get to work on music until the wee hours of the morning, then do it again the next day. We came out with a lot of cool tracks and a few that just need the final touches."
HID- How would you describe the new EP to someone that has never heard your band before. Matt- "Songs that will get you movin' and groovin'. A little preview album before we release a full length album."
HID- Give us the name of three local acts that we all should also be listening to.
1. The Muggs
2. Deadly Vipers
3. Five Pound Snap
If you would like to see the dudes perform the new stuff live and in person this weekend for FREE please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with Erers in the subject. We will be drawing a winner the morning of the show and emailing them details on how to claim their prize.

HID- Where was your new music video for "I Can Do Anything" filmed? Tell us a little bit about it.
Matt- "We shot 'I Can Do Anything' at Jamie's house in Detroit. We had a little kegger and invited a bunch of friends to come be in the video. We set up right in the front living room and even jammed a short drunken set until we blew the fuse.
We picked this song to make a video to because everyone is always asking before shows if we are going to play that "I can do anything song." We wanted to show our appreciation, so we made a video and invited them to come be drunk and have a good time in it."
HID- Give us one good reason that we have to attend your album release.
Matt- "New Music. We locked ourselves away in a warehouse all summer to write, so we'd love to throw a big party for everyone to experience the new and improved ERERs!"
HID- You're at 7-11, what type of Slurpee do you choose and why?
Matt- "Coke or Cherry, that way you can put some whiskey in it."
