NYC indie rockers Mainland are currently on tour with Marianas Trench. They have been getting some good buzz since the release of their latest EP Outkast which can be heard here. We had a chance to ask front man Jordan Topf a few questions about the music, the band, and what's next. Check out what he had to say and if you like what you see and hear, you can enter to win a pair of tickets to see them play live at The Fillmore in Detroit this Friday, February 12th.
HID- Detroit is the third from last stop on your one month tour with Marianas Trench - what is the first thing you are going to do when you get back home?
Jordan- "After tour we like to spend time with our gang back in New York. Tour is so much fun, but when we're home it's relaxation time which often means grabbing a brew at our favorite local haunts."
HID- Favorite place to eat on the road?
Jordan- "Charlie's Rendezvous in Memphis. They got the toughest armed guards and the best dry rub ribs in the country."
HID- Have you ever been to Detroit before? If so, what did you think? If not, what are you expecting?
Jordan- "We've been to Detroit twice, and it's always a highlight of touring. The show at The Magic Bag with Atlas Genius was my favorite night of tour. People in Detroit love rock and roll. So we get along swimmingly."
HID- What's next after this tour for the band?
Jordan- "Shooting our next music video, touring, and stopping at one of our favorite festivals South By South West."
Tickets for the show are $26-$36 in advance, they can be purchased here. We also have one pair of tickets to give away to the show. If you would like to roll the dice and enter to win a pair please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with Mainland in the subject. We will draw one lucky winner the day before the show and they will be able to take a friend to check out both bands!
