One of the best weekends of the year is finally here! It's time for The Hamtramck Music Festival! This festival is one of the best events around, showcasing over 180 different bands and musicians at 24 venues throughout Hamtramck. With that many bands playing in one city, you'll not only get to see some of your local favorites, but you have the chance to check out some new ones too.
The festival is taking place this Thursday thru Sunday, March 3rd - 6th. The first night (Thursday) is the kickoff party, so everything is happening at the Fowling Warehouse. The lineup for the night features Moonwalks, James Linck, Belterra, Le Voyage, The Walking Beat, The Belle Isles, The Erers, Cosmic Light Shapes and Five Pound Snap vs. White Bee. This is a great chance to see some amazing musicians and bands all under one roof, and a great chance to pick up your passes for the weekend. A weekend pass will get you into all of the participating venues throughout the weekend and it will only cost you $10. You can also purchase a pass online here.
With 24 venues and close to 200 bands, the weekend can be a little difficult to navigate your way through. So we thought we'd make things a little easier for you. You can check out the full lineup for each venue below, and the bands that we definitely think you should try to see are in bold.
This year there is also a new addition to the festival; Food Trucks! Five great food trucks will be scattered throughout the festival on Friday and Saturday night. The list includes Delectabowl Food, The Mean Weenie, Hero Or Villain Van, Rollin Stone Wood Fired Pizza and The Mac Shack (Saturday only).

To make it a little easier to bounce around from place to place throughout the weekend there will be a free shuttle taking festival goers from place to place. Trust us when we say, take advantage of this service! When you've had a few drinks, getting from the New Dodge to the PLAV Post 10 seems like it will be a quick walk, but it takes longer than you would think! The shuttle will get you from place to face much quicker, especially when your going from one side of town to the other. Check out the map and schedule for the shuttle here.
After three crazy nights of music and partying, things will wrap up on Sunday at PLAV Post #10 with a Hangover Brunch and The Detroit Square Dance Society will be on site providing some extra fun. Great way to wrap up a great weekend!
All proceeds from The Hamtramck Music Festival go towards Ben's Encore, a non-profit that provides instruments, music lessons and scholarships to youth and school music programs. So not only do you get to see a ton of great bands for the super low price of $10, but you're also supporting a great organization! For more info on The Hamtramck Music Festival and to see the schedule broke down by venue, head over to HamtramckMusicFestival.com or just watch the video below.
