L.A. based band Bleached has been making a name for themselves since 2010, but their latest album Worms has redefined the band. The band got a little more raw on this recording, singer Jenn Calvin poured her heart into her music to get herself through some personal traumas. The result was the band's most raw and honest music to date. Don't get me wrong, it's still full of poppy goodness. But the lyrics are anything but silly. You can check out some of the new tunes from the band here.
I love how fuzzy and fun the album is. It's heavier than pop is supposed to be, but poppier than heavy music is supposed to be. In other words it's just right.
The ladies will be playing in Ferndale this Thursday, April 21st alongside No Parents. If you would like to see them perform the new stuff live, please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmailcom with Bleached in the subject line. We will draw one lucky winner this Thursday morning and we will email that winner details on how to claim their prize.
