See "Generation Startup" this Weekend at the DIA

Have you ever had an amazing idea, but you were just too afraid to take a chance and make that idea a reality? We are lucky enough to live in a city that is coming back to life. It is full of opportunities and people taking chances. Generation Startup is a film about some of these people.

Created by Cynthia Wade and Cheryl Miller, this film tells the story of six recent college graduates that "put everything on the line to build startups in Detroit". Those six people are Brian Rudolph and Avery Hairston of Banza, Dextina Booker of Rock Ventures and Shinola, Labib Rahman from Mason, Kate Catlin at Detroit Labs, and Max Nussenbaum of Castle. You can learn more about them and their stories before you see the film by clicking here. The filmmakers followed these individuals for 17 months to show you their struggles, defeats and successes during their entrepreneurial endeavors.

This Friday and Saturday, October 14th and 15th you can see Generation Startup at the DIA. The film will be shown at 9:30 p.m. both nights in the Detroit Film Theatre. Tickets are $11 and can be purchased in advance here. Check out the trailer of the film for yourself below. Then head to the DIA this weekend and get ready to be inspired!
