Berserker IV Feature - EYEHATEGOD

One of the biggest and most anticipated bands on this year's Berserker is EYEHATEGOD. They will be headlining Friday night's lineup and not only is this show a big deal for Berserker attendees, but it's a pretty huge show for the band too. This show marks front man Mike IX's return to the stage after having several health problems over the years. Plus it's his birthday! So if you weren't already stoked enough to see this band, there are two more reasons.

In case you aren't familiar with EHG, they have been around since 1988. The band has its roots in New Orleans and combines Southern Rock with Hardcore Punk. Over the year's they have done numerous tours, both headlining and playing with bands like Pantera, White Zombie and Corrosion of Conformity. The band sites the Melvins, Carnivore, The Obsessed, Discharge, Black Flag, Corrosion of Conformity, Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost, Confessor and Saint Vitus as some of their influences, showing what a wide range they cover with their sound. We were lucky enough to get a chance to send our Berserker preview questions over to guitarist Jimmy Bower before EYEHATEGOD heads to town this weekend. Check out what he had to say below.

HID- What two words best describe your band?
Jimmy Bower of EYEHATEGOD- "On fire!"

HID- Why should people check out your set at Berserker?
Jimmy Bower- "Because it's the return of Mike IX."

HID- What’s the best part about playing a fest like this?
Jimmy Bower- "Jamming with friends and spreading the word of underground music."

HID- Are you looking forward to checking out any of the other bands on the fest?
Jimmy Bower- "Yeah! Lots of great bands to see."

HID- For those Berserker goers that might not have heard your band before, name one of your songs that they should definitely check out.

Jimmy Bower- "Fixodent, clean underwear, clean socks"

HID- What else should people know before they check out your band at Berserker?
Jimmy Bower- "Earplugs will be needed."
