Watch the latest Star Wars movie under the stars in Detroit this Wednesday night! Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be shown this week at New Center Park as part of their ongoing Wednesday Night Film Series. There's nothing better than watching a movie outside on a blanket on a beautiful summer night, and if it's a Star Wars movie, you know it will be extra fun!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released last December by LucasFilm and Disney. This is the first stand alone film in the Star Wars universe, so although some of the story line may be familiar, it includes a whole new set of characters. The baseline for this movie according to IMDB is, "The Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow." The film stars Felicity Jones, that plays the character Jyn Erso. Check out the trailer for the movie below.
The movie will begin at dark this Wednesday night, so around 9 p.m. Gates to New Center Park are set to open at 8 p.m. Admission to the movies at the park is free and all ages are welcome. You are welcome to bring a blanket to sit on, but there are also some chairs available at the park. Outside food and drinks are not allowed, but there is a bar & grill on site that serves hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks, drinks, and adult beverages. You can check out their menu here.
