The Alley Deck, also known as the deck at the Magic Stick, has always been one of our favorite bars in Detroit. Over the years we've spent many nights on that deck, and summer isn't quite complete without heading up there at least a couple of times. Well, if you haven't made it to the deck this summer, we have the perfect excuse for you to head up there!
The Alley Deck now has an Open Mic Night. Our good friend Adam Burgess teamed up with Buck Nell to start this weekly event and they've been hosting open mics all summer long. The event has brought out some of Detroit's best musicians along with some new blood. Each week they have a featured artists, and this week that artist is the always amazing Zander Michigan. He will be getting behind the mic along with other brave souls.
The deck opens up for open mic night at 7 p.m. and sign up to perform starts at 7:30 p.m. Then, the music starts around 8 p.m. and will keep going until about Midnight. The party will keep going until the bar closes at 2. Admission is free and there are always great drink specials. Sounds like a great way to spend a Tuesday night!
