It's time to tune in for another live podcast from the ladies of hipindetroit.com! We are happy to announce that we have officially been "on the air" for a year and we have talked to a lot of great Detroiters. You can listen to all of our previous shows here. Then, you can tune in live on Thursday, August 31st to hear us broadcast our 13th show live from PodcastDetroit.com.
For the first show of our second year, we will be sitting down with Nate Dorough, co-owner of Fusion Shows. Nate officially started the company in 2008, but he was booking live events long before he made it official. Since its inception, the team has booked around 2,000 live shows together and merged with The Crofoot to expand their reach and ability to score talent and bring them to Michigan. Fusion Shows books gigs all across the state and has shows in different cities throughout the week. They are probably responsible for a lot of shows that you have gone to and you don't even know it! Tune in to hear us pick Nate's brain about local music, building a business, and so much more!
We will also have a special guest in at the end of the show. Kate Hardy from Suck It Suicide will be stopping by to tell us more about one of our favorite local nonprofits and to chat about how this organization was started, what it is trying to do, and how you can help if you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts. The music community has lost a lot of great people to suicide and we want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to take care of all the people that we love.

Both of this month's guests are sponsors of Hip in Detroit, but we booked them on the podcast long before they signed up! Detroit is an amazing city filled with amazing people who aren't afraid to support each other when they can. It will be an honor to talk to these two hip cats live at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st. Visit PodcastDetroit.com to listen live. We are usually in Studio 2, but sometimes they give us the big room if it's free. So make sure that you are following us on Instagram so you can check our story and see where we are next Thursday!
