The political climate in this country has been heated over the last week, to put it extremely mildly. Since Trump's inauguration earlier this year, the country has been extremely divided. It is very clear that many of us are not fans of the US's current leader and administration and we're not afraid to express it.
Well if you're looking to get some of your frustration out through music, you'll definitely want to check out Downtown Boys' latest release Cost of Living. This band has always been known for their socially charged songs, so undoubtedly this latest release reflects what is going on in our country and the world today. Give the first single "A Wall" a listen below to get a feel for this album, and if you want to hear more, check the full album out on Bandcamp here. We've all been saying that if nothing else there would be some good music released during this presidency, and this is one of those albums.

Downtown Boys are headed to Detroit to play at Marble Bar this Thursday night. This show was originally slated to be at UFO Factory, but because of recent destruction at the venue, the show had to be moved to Marble Bar. Luckily it's also a super awesome venue, so it will still be a great night! Joining Downtown Boys for the night are Deadbeat Beat and PRIM. Tickets for the show are $11 in advance and can be purchased here. Thanks to Party Store Productions we are also giving away a pair of tickets to this show! To enter to win those tickets, send your name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with #downtown in the subject line. We will draw one lucky winner on Thursday morning and will send them details on how to claim their prize.
Doors for the show are set to open at 8 p.m. and 18+ are welcome. To hear more from Downtown Boys, check out their previous releases on Bandcamp here.
