Get Spooky at the Cinema this Weekend

If you want to get in the Halloween spirit this weekend, but you're not too into costumes or cover shows, maybe seeing a spooky flick on the big screen is more your style! Some of the movie theatres around town are playing your favorite creepy classics this weekend, from Rocky Horror Picture Show to Psycho.

First on our list is Alfred Hitchock's Psycho, playing at The Redford Theatre. The classic thriller will be shown on Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. and there is also a matinee screening on Saturday at 2 p.m Tickets for the show are only $5 and can be purchased in advance here. Don't forget to get there early to hear the eerily beautiful sounds of the Barton Organ before the show!

Also showing at The Redford Theatre this weekend is Halloween. The 1978 film featuring Michael Myers will be shown at a special late night screening at 11:30 p.m. Tickets for this movie are also only $5, you can purchase yours in advance here.

If fishnets and fun is more your thing, you can also check out The Rocky Horror Picture Show this weekend. This fan favorite is playing at Cinema Detroit on Friday, Saturday and on Halloween night. There are showings at 10 p.m. each night, as well as 7:45 on Friday and Tuesday, and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Costumes are encouraged, but there are some rules to follow at these showings. You can get that info and pick up tickets here. You can also check out Rocky Horror at the Main Art's Midnight Madness on Friday and Saturday night. For more info on that, click here.

Head to the Senate Theatre if you want to howl at the moon with American Werewolf in London. The theatre will be playing this film on Friday night at 8 p.m. Tickets are only $5 and doors open at 7 p.m.

On Saturday night the Senate will be playing a double feature, Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. This is about as classic as it gets! The movies will start at 8 p.m. and admission to see these two films is $10. For more info, click here
