The 90's were a truly magical time. The jeans were super low and the tips were super bleached. We all wore high heel platforms and short shirts. You weren't cool unless you had one pant leg pulled up and a cool new body piercing (bellybutton, tongue, and eyebrow preferred). It was a magical time when the Spice Girls, Britney Spears and *NSYNC ruled the charts. Justin was with Britney and Victoria Beckham was still known as Posh Spice. Most people still listened to tapes and cds in their newest walkman and the most popular shows on TV in the late 90's were Friends, ER, and Seinfeld. The 90's were the last decade where you could go out and not have your every move documented on the internet. The East Coast and the West Coast were feuding and Bill Clinton was playing the sax on SNL. It was a magical decade that we wish we could repeat, but we can't. We can however recreate the magic for one night to remind all of us what it was like when Justin Timberlake was making turtlenecks cool.
Hip in Detroit has teamed up with The Crofoot Presents and Fusion Shows to bring you a one night only FREE event called Whatcha Really Really Want, a 90's Pop and Hip Hop Experience. We will be turning back time and bringing the Magic Stick back to 1998 for one night only. A real DJ will be playing all 90's vinyl and everyone's favorite Saturday morning principal Mr. Belding will be hosting the show! Instead of watching Night at The Roxbury you can come out and live that 90's nightclub experience in real life.
90's attire is encouraged, so pull out your favorite Coogi sweater or lace up your favorite pair of platforms and head up to the Magic Stick at 8 p.m. on November 22nd. Hip in Detroit and The Crofoot want to take you back in time and show you how to party like its 1999.
The event is free to attend, but if you RSVP you will qualify to win a trip on the Ship-Hop Cruise at the party! Find out more about the give away here!
