For 35 years Belle Isle has invited Detroiters to come stroll through the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, the Belle Isle Nature Center, and the Belle Isle Boathouse. The annual event is called the Holiday Stroll and it takes place every December. This year's event will be held this Friday, December 8th. The evening features a ton of family-friendly events, including Cider, Dutch Girl Donuts, Gospel music from the Well-Spring Chorale and the Detroit School of Arts Achievers Ladies Ensemble, roasted marshmallows at the aquarium, craft and treats at Belle Isle Nature Center and hot cocoa, cookies, holiday music and free winter-themed activities inside the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. There will also be musical performances and you can a sneak peek inside the Detroit Boat Club, which is lit up and decorated for the holidays.
The stroll takes place from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Friday and is free for all ages. It is going to be cold out, so make sure to dress warmly.
Don't forget to head up Jefferson and see the tree in Campus Martius before or after you stop by the stroll!
