Spend Valentines Day with Patti Smith

Let's be honest, most of us hate Valentine's Day. Some of us hate it because we are spending it alone and others hate it because there are so many expectations and it's so easy to disappoint. Usually, we would encourage you to avoid the night all together but this year there is something fun to do that doesn't require you to be part of a couple or even care about love!

The legendary Patti Smith is releasing her latest book Devotion on Wednesday, February 14th at the DIA's Detroit Film Theatre. This book promises readers an inside look at Smith's creative process and the Valentine's Day event offers fans a chance to get up close and personal with the author while picking up a copy of the book to take home and read. Patti will be speaking, but she will not be signing copies of the book after the chat.

Tickets to attend the event are $20 in advance and each ticket purchased includes a copy of the new book. Seating at the event is general admission and groups will be seated on a first come first serve basis. The event starts at 7 p.m. on the 14th and tickets will sell out in advance, so make sure that you scoop yours up soon.
