Everyone spends so much time arguing over the pros and cons of veganism that everyone forgets one of the most important parts about a plant based diet, specifically that there is a whole new world of tastes to explore. Something that any foodie, vegan or otherwise, will want to explore. One of the most magical things I have discovered since converting to a plant based diet is nut based cheese. Not only do I get a good laugh every time I say it, I cannot believe how good it is. The fact that it took me so many years to experience this culinary sensation is disappointing.
If you haven't had the pleasure of a nut cheeses, make sure that you give them a try as soon as possible. And, if you know how good they are and want to start making your own at home there is a very cool class taking place where you can learn how to make your own. The Grimm Feeder is hosting a DIY nut based cheeses class on Friday, March 9th at The Brooklyn Street Local in Detroit. The BYOB event is $50 a person and it includes some take home recipes and a chance to ask a well known vegan chef the tricks of the trade.
