Your New Four-Legged Friend Wants to Come Home this Weekend

If you've been thinking about making your family bigger by adding a four-legged friend, this weekend is a great time to do it! This Saturday, May 5th Bissel once again will be sponsoring pet adoptions across the country for Empty The Shelters. Tons of shelters throughout the state will be offering free pet adoptions during this event. In most cases, you just have to pick up the licensing fee, which is usually $10.  Bissel is covering the rest of the costs! To see a list of participating shelters, just click here. Many of the adoption events are being held right at the shelters, like at the Michigan Humane Society in Detroit. Others are being held at stores like Petco and PetSmart.

If adopting a pet is something that you think you might be interested in, don't wait until Saturday to head to a shelter. Many shelters are requiring prospective fur parents to apply by Friday, May 4th. So, head over to PetFinder.com, find the pets your are interested in, and then fill out that application!
