The '80s were a defining decade in our history. This decade gave shape to some crazy clothing trends, some of the biggest hair-dos around, and some awesome music trends. One of those bands that was creating music in the 80s was Canadian Metal Heads, Anvil. This band got its start in 1981 and paved the way for bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica. Although Anvil didn't quite reach the popularity that these bands did, they definitely carved out a place in music history, which can be seen in the documentary about the band, Anvil! The Story of Anvil.
Over 30 decades after getting their start, Anvil is still at it and out on tour. They will be making a stop in Detroit at El Club this Sunday, June 10th. Joining Anvil on El Club's stage are Shadowside and Sunlord. Tickets to see these bands live are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. You can purchase your tickets in advance here.
