Don't Miss Three Days of Great Music and Fun at the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival

Every Labor Day Weekend, Joseph Campau is taken over by vendors, beer stands, a carnival, and some of the best music that Detroit has to offer. The Hamtramck Labor Day Festival always hosts some of the best bands around, playing two different stages, but this year, the fest may have outdone itself. This weekend if you head to Hamtramck, you have a chance to see acts like Stef Chura, The Muggs, Craig Brown Band, and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas. Those are just some of the headlining acts playing this year's fest. Some other highlights include The Octopus, Ancient Language, Mugen Hoso (from Japan), Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor, and Kimball. In addition to great music, there will also be a carnival daily, great food for sale, the Polish Day Parade, and of course, the Hamtramck Yacht Club Canoe Races. For those that aren't familiar with the yacht races, representatives of different bars throughout Hamtramck will compete against each other in a race, with pushcarts that look like canoes. The race is always a blast and takes place on Monday at Noon. 

Cover to the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival is free. There is also free street parking available throughout town, and if you ride your bike to the festival, Wheelhouse Detroit will have a free bike valet.
