Street Beet's vegan pop-ups are the hippest new thing to hit the food and beverage scene in Detroit. They are one night only experiences that are special in every way. Co-creators Megan and Nina have a unique approach to vegan "junk food" that makes plant-based eating not only seem easy, but accessible to everyone. Plus, they keep it local and support small businesses like PJ's Lager House and Nancy Whiskey's by packing the space from wall to wall every time they are in the kitchen.
This week they are taking things a little north for their latest pop-up called Street Beet Mac & Fake Cheese taking place at Urbanrest Brewery in Ferndale, Michigan this Wednesday, February 20th. The menu for this event is small, but mighty. It includes a buffalo burrito featuring Kentucky fake chicken and cashew mac and cheese, nacho mac that's made with sweet chili Doritos, and chicken and waffles inside an actual waffle cone. They even have a plant-based dessert S'more shake that features a mixture from the Ice Cream Plant, a local nut free, dairy free, gluten free ice cream maker.
The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. or until the food runs out, which frequently happens at their gatherings. To keep up with all things Street Beet click here. To learn more about the pop-up including a review click here.
