Oakland California is the birthplace of MC Hammer, Sheila E., Tim Armstrong, and Too Short. It is also the birthplace of SWMRS, an OC born band that recently released their second album Berkeley's On Fire on Fueled by Ramen Records. They are currently on tour with Beach Goons and Destroy Boys and they will be making a stop in Detroit to play at The Majestic this Tuesday, April 16th.
Tickets for this show are $19 in advance and $21 at the door. We also have a pair of tickets to give away to the show. If you would like to enter, please email your full name to hipindetroit@gmail.com with the subject line #OC. We will be drawing one lucky name on Tuesday and that person will get to attend the show for free with a friend. In the meantime, check out the band's video for the album's title track, "Berkeley's on Fire".
