How the hell is Labor Day weekend already here? It seems like this summer flew by faster than any year before and the unofficial end of summer is already here. Luckily, along with Labor Day weekend comes one of the best festivals in Metro Detroit, the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival.
This year is the 40th annual Hamtramck Labor Day Festival and it seems like the event gets bigger and better every year. There will once again be two stages on Joseph Campau located at each end of the festival. Over 40 acts will be performing on the stages, with highlights like Bastardous, Easy Action, Midas, and Wiccans. You can check out the full lineup and set times below.

In addition to great music, there will also be other entertainment. Sunday at 4 p.m. Big Time Wrestling will return to the festival with Mysterious Movado taking on Kongo Kong. There is also the Hamtramck Yacht Club Canoe Race on Monday afternoon, where your favorite Hamtramck bars will face off against each other in homemade canoes on the streets of Hamtramck. Plus, there will be vendors, a carnival, and awesome food! Some favorites that will be on site include Srodek's and Polish Village Cafe serving up pierogi and other delicious Polish food. There will also be stands from restaurants like Balkan House and Baobab Fare.
As always, admission to the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival is free. If you can't make it out during the day, there are also some awesome after parties happening around town. Check out links to those below.
