Everyone that tries Street Beet loves Street Beet. They have perfected the art of making plant-based, gluten-free versions of everyone's favorite fast food items and have become the hottest pop-up in Detroit. The only "problem" with their pop-ups is that they are well attended, which means it can be hard to get a table without a wait and they occasionally sell out of an item or two before closing. Both of these issues are common roadblocks for anyone who is cooking food in someone else's kitchen but instead of accepting it as "the way it is" they have come up with a few different ways for you to ensure that you can get your fix.
The first way you can get some Street Beet is to stop by 3rd Street Detroit during one of their Detroit Fake Chicken pop-ups this holiday season. Last week they took over the kitchen at 3rd Street from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and after checking out the opening weekend we are pleased to say they have perfected the entire experience for this pop-up. They have streamlined their process by having everyone order at the counter. Once you have made your picks, you pick where you want to sit and can relax until they bring you your food. There is a ton of seating, a wood-burning fireplace, a full bar, and a few bar games to enjoy while you wait. This setup means there are little to no waits and they have enough room, space, and stock to pretty much guarantee that they won't be running out of anything. We suggest the fake chicken sandwich and the fake chicken caesar salad but can assure you that you can't go wrong with anything you get. So if you have been dreaming about trying Street Beet, or your craving a little fake KFC, you can check out the 3rd Street pop-ups.
The second way that you can make sure that you can get Street Beet anytime you want it is to contribute to the Indiegogo campaign that they are running to get the money to open up their own permanent space. You can watch Street Beet's pitch here and you can donate to the campaign here. Imagine what it will feel like to be able to stop by Street beet anytime you want! We cannot wait until we can get our plant-based fast food fix anytime we want!
