Hamtramck Music Fest is taking over the City of Hamtramck this weekend, but first there's another big party in Hamtown this Tuesday! Paczki Day!!! If you know about Paczki Day in Hamtramck, then you know that is not to be missed. If you don't know, this party is about much more than just eating Polish donuts, although there will be plenty of those all around! Here's a list of all of the best happenings for Paczki Day 2020!
Small's: The doors open at 10 a.m. and their paczki will be stuffed with jelly or custard and booze! Small's is home of the Paczki Bomb, plus there will be Tito’s Vodka, High Life and Miller Lite specials, and Polish food. There will also be live music all day long. Check out the lineup below.
4-4:45 p.m.: Eastside Elvis & The Motor City Mafia
4:45-5:15 p.m: Captains of the Head
5:15-6 p.m: Eastside Elvis & the Motor City Mafia
6:45 p.m-7:30 p.m: the Polka Floyd show
7:30-8 p.m: Captains of the Head
8:15-9 p.m.: Polka Floyd
9:15 p.m.-?: The Bon Johnsons
The Painted Lady: It's The Painted Lady, so whether you start your day there or end there, you know it needs to be a stop on your list. The Lady's doors will be opening early, at 7 a.m. There will be paczki, food, and of course, great drinks.
Kelly's Bar: Kelly's Bar will be opening at 10 a.m.! They will also have food, and there will be $2 domestic beer and well drinks.
Whiskey In The Jar: There will be a party inside and outside of Whiskey In The Jar! There will be a heated tent with a full bar outside, plus the bar will be open inside! There will also be great Polish food, dancing, a shotski, and live music from The Kielbasa Kings Polka Band and The Polish Muslims. The party starts around 9 a.m. and the music starts around 11 a.m.!
Ant Hall: The Polish Muslims will also be playing at Ant Hall! The Ghost Light Bar opens at 10 a.m. and the music starts at 10:30 a.m. There will also be great food from the one and only Pietrzyk Pierogi serving up delicious pierogi with vegetarian options. Plus there will be fried bologna, potato pancakes, and of course, paczki. Check out the full menu here.
New Dodge Lounge: The New Dodge is starting things off super early too, just like their neighbors at The Painted Lady. They will be opening up at 7 a.m. There will be live music all day long, with performances from Danny D (Rod Stewart impersonator), Three Point One Four featuring David Winans II, Totally 80's (cover band featuring a wide variety of 80's tunes), Face 2 Face, Angelf$&k (Misfit tribute band), Jason Karman, The Picassos, Bag Of Brains, Norm Alexander and Blauze. There will also be great Polish food available, including pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and kraut, and homemade paczki.
