Musicians Wanted for The Stage at GameTime

Over the past year, livestreams have really been the only way that you can see your favorite band perform live. Some artists have streamed from their living room, while others met in a studio for a full on production. It is a medium that no one expected to enjoy so much, but we are so thankful that it is here!

A newer business in Auburn Hills is getting in on the livestreaming action and helping to provide a platform for local musicians. GameTime is a gaming center in Auburn Hills that offers open play, hosts events, and is home to the professional multi-gaming esports franchise, the Renegades. In addition to being a mecca for gamers, the venue is now also setting the stage for musicians with The Stage, a talent competition and open-mic. The event begins as an open-mic night featuring local acts. Then, select artists will perform during the main event, "The Stage", which is a competition. Fans will be able to watch in person or via the livestream and can vote for their favorite performance. GameTime hosted their first edition of The Stage just a couple of weeks ago. You can check that out on YouTube here. Their next event will be held on Saturday, April 3rd. If you would like to sign up to perform or to be in the audience (live or virtually), click here. Networking and registration starts at 6 p.m. and the open-mic portion starts at 7 p.m.

DCFC Welcomes Fans Back to Keyworth Stadium this Spring

Photo borrowed from DCFC's Facebook Page

The Detroit City Faithful will be able to return to the stands to cheer on Le Rouge this spring! DCFC announced that fans will be allowed to attend games at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck for the 2021 Season. At this time, the organization will be allowing 20% capacity at games, in line with state guidelines. That will allow approximately 1,600 fans to attend the games. Of course, social distancing guidelines will be in place and masks will be required, but DCFC fans have been wearing masks at games for years. So, we don't see that being a problem!

DCFC's first home game of the season will take place on Saturday, May 1st against the Maryland Bobcats with a 7:30 p.m. game time. At this time, they have 5 home games on the schedule. You can see the full schedule here. The DCFC Women's Team will kick off their season at home on May 15th against the Muskegon Riders, with 5 home games on the schedule as well. Check out their schedule here

Season tickets for the 2021 season will go on sale on Monday, March 29th. Single game tickets will go on sale some time in April. Tickets can be purchased online here. For additional details on ticket sales and to stay in the loop on updates for the 2021 season, head to DetCityFC.com and sign up for the email list, or keep an eye on DCFC on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

The Redford Theatre Reopens with "The Sound of Music"

After months of being closed, the historic Redford Theatre will reopen its doors this weekend. The theatre will be showing The Sound of Music this Friday and Saturday night. This classic film was also the first movie that the Redford showed in their Classic Movie Series, which began in March of 1978. Now, 43 years later, and 56 years after the film's original release, The Sound of Music will play on the big screen at the Redford Theatre again. This seems like the perfect choice to reopen the theatre with and we're sure many of the Redford's faithful fans will be spinning around like Julie Andrews when they step foot in this remarkable place again.

The Sound of Music will be shown on Friday, March 12th at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 14th at 2 p.m. Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased here. Attendance for these showings will be limited to approximately 20 % of the Redford's 1,600 person capacity. Also, social distancing and other COVID protocols will be in place. You can view all of those guidelines here

To stay in the loop on other upcoming showings at the Redford Theatre, visit RedfordTheatre.com and make sure you follow them on Facebook, too

Inner Sage Opens a New Store in Downtown Ferndale

It's been a while since we had the opportunity to visit a new store opening in Metro Detroit and after a year of negativity and bad vibes, a space like Inner Sage couldn't come soon enough for us! After successfully opening a yoga studio in Dearborn, Inner Sage has teamed up with Motor City Creations and 12th Street Industrial to create a new store that specializes in gems, stones, oils, smudge sticks, tinctures, locally made goods, gifts, yoga gear, and more! The shop had a great vibe and some gorgeous rings that we couldn't leave without buying. I scooped up a delicate little moonstone and have been wearing it every day since. If you need some good vibes or a gift, this is a great place to pop into the next time your in Downtown Ferndale!
