Before Covid-19 took over and the world shut down, one of the last events we attended was the Hamtramck Music Fest. If we weren't going to be able to see live music for over a year, at least we got to see a ton of great acts all in one weekend! The fest usually happens in late winter and features some of the best local music that Detroit has to offer, at bars throughout Hamtramck. This year, the fest didn't happen in the winter like usual, so instead the organizers are holding a summer edition of the Hamtramck Music Fest!
August 5th - 8th, over 150 bands will play at over a dozen venues throughout Hamtramck. There will be both indoor and outdoor performance spaces, so there should be something to fit everyone's comfort level. The fest will kick off on Thursday night at P.L.A.V. Post 10 with The Whiskey Charmers, Milk Bath, Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders, Weirdoz Gang, and The My Ways. This is also your first chance to pick up your wristband for the weekend. Wristbands are $15, which will get you into all of the participating venues over the weekend. You can either purchase your wristband at the P.L.A.V. or you can buy it online and pick it up there any day over the weekend. Since this is the headquarters for the fest this year, you can also stop by all weekend long to pick up a map or schedule to help you plan out your weekend.
