Hip in Detroit's Picks for the Weekend - January 20-22, 2023

We already told you about Haute to Death's first party of 2023, here are some other fun things happening this weekend! 

Friday, January 20th - Norcos y Horchata @ Stache: This Friday night Norcos y Horchata will be playing at Stache International with You Dirty Rat and The Black List. On top of this being a great show, it's also Amado's birthday (singer of NyH). Doors open at 8 p.m., the music starts at 9, admission is free, and 21+ are welcome. 

Friday, January 20th - Detroit Party Marching Band @ The Old Miami: It's always a party when Detroit Party Marching Band is someplace! This Friday night, that place is The Old Miami and they will be joined by Lollygagger and Hayley & The Crushers. Cover is $5, 21+ are welcome, and doors open at 9 p.m.

Saturday,  January 21st - Battle Royale @ The Old Miami: We aren't sure why this show is called Battle Royale, but we are sure that it will be a good time! The lineup includes The Idiot Kids, Carmel Liburdi, Death Cat, and Scum Queens. Cover us $5 and doors open at 9 p.m. Get set times here. 

Saturday, January 21st - Thirst Wave David Bowie Tribute Night @ Small's: Dress up as your favorite version of David Bowie and head to Small's this Saturday night! Residents DJ Pleasure Kitten, DJ Aaron Hingst, and DJ Elektrosonik will be joined by guest DJ Pink Noise for the night. Dance to 
New Wave, Retro Alternative, Dark '80s, '90s Alternative from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. and obviously there will be a lot of Bowie tunes in the mix. Doors open @ 9 p.m., cover is $5 for 21+, and $10 for 18-20.

Saturday. January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd - Panic in Hamtramck @ The Sanctuary: Over a dozen metal bands will be playing at The Sanctuary this weekend for Panic in Hamtramck. The two day fest features MRSA, Exploding Zombies, Jesus Wept, and Mammon, among others. Tickets are $13 each day and can be purchased here. All ages are welcome and the fun starts at 6 p.m. each day.
