Friday, March 3rd – FRED 3 Release Party @ Ghost Light: This Friday night, Ghost Light will host an incredible night of music with Detroit’s one and only musical koala bear, Fred, along with Illingsworth and James Linck, who will be performing with a full band. Cover is $10, doors open at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 9. Check out Fred’s new release FRED 3 here.
Friday, March 3rd & Saturday, March 4th - Corktown Music Festival: Five venues in Corktown will host about 80 musical acts this weekend for the Corktown Music Festival. The fest will take place Friday and Saturday night at Lager House, Nancy Whiskey, Batch Brewing Co., 2000 Brooklyn, and the Gaelic League (Friday only). Some of the acts performing include Burn Maralago, Carmel Liburdi, Choking Susan, Mike Leslie, Winestoned Cowboys, Macho, Brenda, and Death Cat. Check out the full list of who’s playing and when here. Wristbands are available for $20 (cash only) at all the participating venues and that wristband gets you in all the venues both nights. All proceeds go to help 4Paws 1 Heart. 18+ are welcome. The fun starts around 7 p.m. both nights.
Friday, March 3rd & Saturday, March 4th – Cagliostro III @ The Narthex: Cagliostro is an immersive DIY art exhibition featuring sort of creepy art from over a dozen artists. Artists include LGRDMN, Red Made This, Micah Ulrich, Jesse Jacobi, Bakpak Durden, Moonlight, Doomvana, Breezy Tucker, Nika Urban, Calvin Waterman, Rob Mills, S. Hirsack, and John Dunivant. You may recognize some of these names as popular artists in the area and some for being affiliated with Theatre Bizarre. The exhibit also features an original score to accompany the art. The event goes from 7 p.m. – midnight each night. Tickets are sold out, but there was a last minute venue change. So keep an eye out in case more tickets magically pop up.
Friday, March 3rd - Frank White @ Small’s: After disappearing for years, Frank White is back and playing Small’s this Friday night. They will be joined by Break Anchor, Norcos Y Horchata, and Lily Livers. Cover is $15, all ages are welcome, and doors open a 7 p.m.
