Picture this: Downtown Royal Oak on Washington Avenue, between 5th and 7th Streets, will be transformed into a vibrant wonderland with epic performances, mouthwatering eats, and a whole lotta love and good vibes.
Brace yourselves, 'cause RuPaul's Drag Race Superstars are headlining this party! First up, we've got the fierce Brooke Lynn Hytes, slaying the stage on August 4th. And hold on to your wigs 'cause the fabulous Alyssa Edwards will be bringing it on August 5th! These queens know how to serve looks, talent, and charisma like no other!
But wait, there's more! They've got a lineup of insanely talented peeps, from singer-songwriter VINCINT to Puddles Pity Party, the clown with the voice of an angel. And guess what? Local superstar, Barbara Payton, who's been backing up the legendary Bob Seger, will also be rocking the mic! And that's not all – they're paying tribute to the greats like Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, and Prince with mind-blowing tribute acts!
This festival is for everyone! It doesn't matter who you are or who you love, 'cause they are all about that love and acceptance here! Bring your crew, your family, your pets – the more, the merrier! There's gonna be something for everyone, from the kiddos to the grannies.

Some of the acts on the bill include Caveman & Bam Bam, Fen Fen, Craig Brown Band, Zilched, Wild Shape, and Prude Boys. Check out the full lineup and set times here. $15 gets you in each night. The music starts at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Friday, July 21st - Retro Pop - A Totally 80's Dance Party @ Small's: Travel back in time to the 1980s at Small's this Friday night! DJ Pleasure Kitten, Elektrosonik, and Aaron Hingst will be providing the tunes for the evening with nothing but 80's Pop, Dance, New Wave, Rock and electronic all night. So, put on your favorite 80s gear and get out on the dance floor! 18+ are welcome. Cover is $3 for 21+ or $10 for 18-20. The fun starts at 9 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.
Saturday, July 22nd - Cyadine @ Redrunn Skate Shop: There's a new skate shop in the area and this Saturday night they're hosting a show! Head to Redrunn Skate Shop at 13 & Mound in Warren to check out Cyadine with Grand Snake. Cover is only $10, all ages are welcome, and if you're 21+ BYOB. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bands start at 7. There will also be an art show and there's lots of cool merch in the shop, so make sure to get there early and check everything out while you're there!
Saturday, July 22nd - Suck It Suicide Jean Short Party @ Eastern Palace Club: Suck It Suicide is hosting their 12th Annual Jean Short Party this Saturday night! This is one of the biggest fundraisers for this amazing organization, whose main purpose is to help those who have recently lost someone to suicide with financial support for funerals, clean-up and memorial services. This time around, the Jean Short Party is taking over Eastern Palace Club in Hazel Park. The night will include music from The Galbraiths, Strange Heart, The Underdog, and The Ryan & Michelle Show, as well as raffles, a LEGO memorial wall, and BBQ from Smoked Lotus. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance here. 21+ are welcome and doors open at 6 p.m.
Sunday, July 23rd - Rockabilly Summer Motor Expo @ Token Lounge: Head down to Westland this Sunday evening for a the Rockabilly Summer Motor Expo at the Token Lounge! Pop up your pompadour and get ready for a fun evening with The Firewalkers, Jane Rose & The Deadends, and Bones Maki. There will also be cool cars, vendors, and a pin-up contest! The car show goes all day from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., then the music goes from 6-10 p.m. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased in advance here.

At the Michigan & Trumbull pop-up, you can savor a variety of their signature round-style pies, each bursting with flavors that will leave you craving for more. Go Comedy! Improv Theater has launched the Adopt a Seat program as a means of raising crucial funds to secure its future and continue to provide a platform for aspiring improvisers and comedy enthusiasts. By making a minimum contribution of $200, you can honor or remember someone special in your life. In return for your donation, a stainless steel nameplate will be prominently affixed to the back of one of the available seats.
You can also support them by having some fun and attending a live show in Downtown Ferndale. Go Comedy! Improv Theater is proud to present "Just Kidding 2" as their latest show. Directed by Pete Jacokes, this hilarious production features the dynamic duo of Erik Heilner and Andrew Seiler, who bring their thoughtful take on therapy, animal rights, self-defense, artificial intelligence, and much more to the Go Comedy! stage. Saturday, July 15th - Detroit Oddities & Curiosities Expo: Get weird at The Detroit Oddities & Curiosities Expo this weekend! The expo will bring strange, unusual, and bizarre goods to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi this Saturday. Some examples of what you might find at the show include taxidermy, gothic jewelry, horror inspired art, and more. Get a sneak peek of what some of the vendors will have available here. Saturday, July 1st - One Nation Under A Groove 2: Electric Boogaloo aka Another Funky Ass Fundraiser @ Outer Limits: Head to Outer Limits Lounge to help raise funds for some great causes in the community on Saturday night! First off, they will be raising money for Food Not Class, who helps feed the community at different locations in Detroit. Secondly, they will be raising money for Prisoner Rights, specifically for Keith Lamar. The night will include raffles, dancing, DJs, food, and more.
Saturday, July 1st - Diva Cup 5 @ Trixie's: Get ready to laugh your ass off at Trixie's this Saturday night! Diva Cup will be making its return to Hamtramck, hosted by Stefanie Ann, the Downriver Diva. The event will feature 40 comedians, given one minute each and a random topic. Plus, it's a backyard beach party! Tickets are $9 in advance or $15 at the door. The show starts at 8 p.m., but if you want to get on stage, get there at 7:30 when sign up starts. The first 40 comedians to sign up will get in on the competition.
Saturday, July 1st - Sunlight Ascending @ The Sanctuary: The Sanctuary has a great show lined up for you this Saturday night! Sunlight Ascending, Man Mountain, Normal, and Doubt It! are on the bill. Friday, June 30th - Tuesday, July 4th - Royal Oak Taco Fest: Some of the best taco trucks around are gathering in Royal Oak this weekend for Royal Oak Taco Fest. This year, the event is being held in a new park on the east side of Main Street in downtown Royal Oak and it's bigger than ever. There are over 50 food trucks, axe throwing, taco eating contests, lucha libre wrestling, and live music. Tickets are $12 a day, or $5 on Tuesday (which arguably has the best music lineup with Jackson & the Poolsharks, The Beggars, and Pancho Villa's Skull).
