Hip In Detroit's Picks for the Weekend: October 6 - 8

Saturday, October 7th - Cold As Life @ The Russell Industrial Center: After 20 years, Cold as Life makes their return to the stage this Saturday night! The show is being brought to you by Black Iris Booking and the fine folks behind Tied Down Detroit and it will take over the Russell Industrial Center. Joining Cold as Life is Madball, Terror, Integrity, H8 INC, Death Threat, Never Ending Game, Mindforce, Shattered Realm, Death Before Dishonor, New World Man, MH Chaos, D Bloc, The World, Poison Tongues, and Blue Collar Stompers. Things kick off early, at 1 p.m., and all ages are welcome. Some tickets are still available for $59.99, get yours here. 

Saturday, October 7th - Gusher and Fen Fen @ The Lexington: The Lex has another great show this Saturday night! The lineup include Gusher, Fen Fen, Neon Display, and Easers from Grand Rapids. $10 will get you in the door. 

Saturday, October 7th - Woodbridge Porch Concerts: Before you head over to The Lexington, wander the streets of Woodbridge and check out some live music during the Woodbridge Porch Concerts. Starting at noon, musicians will be performing on front porches throughout the Woodbridge neighborhood, with music spanning from bands like Checker to solo acts like Audra Kubat. Saturday, October 7th - Hamtramck Neighborhood Arts Festival: Speaking of neighborhood festivals, the Hamtramck Neighborhood Arts Festival will bring art and music to the city of Hamtramck this Saturday! Now in its 13th year, this event will feature art on display, musicians playing, and even art workshops both indoors and outdoors at businesses, homes, studios, and more. Saturday, October 7th & Sunday October 8th - Detroit Harvest Fest: Detroit Harvest Fest takes over the Dequindre Cut this Saturday and Sunday! This event will bring over 50 food trucks to the cut along with live music and loads of fun for the whole family. Check out the live music schedule here. Admission is $5 and the fun goes from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. both days. 

Sunday, October 8th - Murphy's Law @ Small's: You can start and end your weekend with epic hardcore shows, because Murphy's Law plays Small's on Sunday night! Joining them are The Rumjacks, Bar Stool Preachers, and Grade 2. Tickets are $22 in advance or $25 the day of the show. You can pick up your tickets in advance here. All ages are welcome and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Sidenote: There is a lot of construction on the streets around Small's right now. So plan accordingly and think about taking a rideshare.
