There are plenty of great music festivals in Detroit, but there has always been one that stood out from the rest. The one that people held close to their hearts and weren't willing to miss whether that March weekend brough snow, rain, sleet, or beautiful 60 degree weather along with it. Of course, we are talking about the Hamtramck Blowout!
This weekend, the Blowout is back and dare we say that it's going to be better than ever! The event will take over the streets and bars in Hamtramck on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd with the official kickoff on Thursday, February 29th. There are over a dozen venues participating with a shuttle running in between, helping you catch every act on your must see list! And this time around, it's going to be awfully hard to make that list because there are SO many great bands on the bill.
While one of the best parts of the Hamtramck Blowout is wandering around seeing what music you might stumble upon, there are some sets that you're going to want to make a point to see! At the top of our list, is James Linck at The Painted Lady on Friday night, but here's the full schedule with our picks highlighted.
Whoever you happen to check out this weekend, we're sure it will be great and that you'll have a blast!
Wristbands for the entire weekend are only $20, which will get you into all of the shows at all of the venues. You can purchase yours online now or in person at Bakers Streetcar Bar, Bumbo's, Cafe 1923, Ghost Light, Hello Records, Henriettahaus, Kelly's, Outer Limits, Painted Lady, People's Records, Polish Village Cafe, Polka Dot, Small's, and Whiskey in the Jar. Get all of the details on wristbands and see a detailed schedule for the event at HamtramckBlowout.com and make sure you're following the Facebook event page and the Hamtramck Labor Day Fest on Facebook for updates.
Thank you to the organizers of the Hamtramck Labor Day festival for bringing The Blowout back! We can't wait to see everyone this weekend!
